Reef Seek
★ Ocean Education Through Art ★
What is ReefSeek?

ReefSeek is an outreach project based in the Inland Empire using art, specifically crochet, to help raise awareness about the importance of coral reefs in an inland community who may feel disconnected from any impact on these diverse ecosystems.
Using the process of crocheting coral and other organisms found in reefs, people can exercise their creative skills while learning scientific information. The connections formed between the process of creating something while learning about the science behind it can strengthen learners’ ability to retain and recall information.
Reefseek takes this principles to all places and applies this learning to all ages! Art markets, fairs, schools are all places where Reefseek aims to connect with the creative community and promote scientific learning through crochet.
Mission
To make my inland community aware of our indirect connection to the ocean, and how our actions have impact on an ecosystem that seems incredibly far away and disconnected.
Vision
To use crocheting coral as a way to connect with the creative community in my area as well as a way to educate people on the scientific intricacies of coral anatomy and growth.
